This test looks for Heavy Metals in a person's urine. The body is able to process small amounts of heavy metals but high levels of exposure can result in materials building up in body tissues and causing a number of health complications. This panel includes Total Arsenic, Inorganic Arsenic, Lead, Mercury, Creatinine and Creatinine ratios for all metals. The specimen for this test can be either Random Urine or 24 Hour Urine.
The patient should avoid seafood and red wine 72 hours prior to collection.
Process after you order: You can go to the lab and pick up the materials for collection. Void at 8 AM and discard the specimen. Then collect all urine including the final specimen voided at the end of the 24-hour collection period (ie, 8 AM the next morning). Avoid contact with metal during collection. Screw the lid on securely.
