Heart Test Panel- Comprehensive
This heart test panel includes blood tests that measure variables that affect heart health like electrolytes (CMP), hematocrit and immune cells (CBC), Cardio IQ Advanced Lipid Panel with Particle Sizes, and inflammatory markers like homocysteine, High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein, and D-Dimer.
This heart test panel includes blood tests that are critical in determining cardiovascular risks:
The comprehensive metabolic panel or cmp panel consists of 14 blood tests which serve as an initial medical screening tool to review overall health. The CMP blood test panel functions as a check for kidney function, liver function, and electrolyte and fluid balance. Certain electrolytes like potasium can have a critical role in heart health. FASTING IS REQUIRED.
A complete blood count CBC with differential test panel measures several components of your blood including:Red blood cells, which carry oxygen, White blood cells, which fight infection, Hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells, Hematocrit, the proportion of red blood cells to the fluid component in your blood (which correlated with blood thickness), and Platelets, which help with blood clotting.
People with a hs-CRP level of more than 2 mg/L and other cardiovascular risk factors should be tested again in two weeks to rule out an acute inflammatory response. This is because people with a hs-CRP level of more than 2 mg/L and other cardiovascular risk factors are considered to have intermediate cardiovascular risk. Patients with a high hs-CRP level of >10 mg/L that can't be explained after multiple tests should be checked for noncardiovascular causes, such as an infection, active arthritis, or another illness. If the hs-CRP level stays high, the patient may be reclassified as having a high cardiovascular risk, which would be a good reason to start treatment for primary cardiovascular prevention. It's important to remember that the best ways to lower CRP are also the best ways to lower the risk of heart disease. These include diet, exercise, controlling blood pressure, and quitting smoking.
Cardio IQ Advanced Lipid Panel
The Cardio IQ® Report provides an in-depth assessment of cardiovascular risks to help physicians recommend the ideal individualized treatment option for patient to minimize cardiovascular disease.
The report is simple, yet comprehensive. It is color-coded to display progressive risk values versus goal using “optimal,” “moderate,” and “high-risk” categories and grouped by functional categories.
Cardio IQ Advanced Lipid Panel The Cardio IQ Advanced Lipid Panel includes:Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL, LDL and Cholesterol/HDL ratio, LDL Particle Number, LDL Peak Size, LDL Pattern, HDL Large, LDL Small, LDL Medium, Apolipoprotein B, Lipoprotein (a). FASTING REQUIRED. Results for this test take 2 weeks to receive.
Homocysteine blood test measures a chemical in the blood that is produced when an amino acid (a building block of protein) called methionine is broken down in the body. We all have some homocysteine in our blood. Elevated homocysteine levels (also called hyperhomocysteinemia) may cause irritation of the blood vessels. Elevated levels of homocysteine show an increased risk for (1) hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis), which could eventually result in a heart attack and/or stroke, and (2) blood clots in the veins, referred to as venous thrombosis
D-Dimer is one of the by-products that can be measured after the fibrinolytic system is turned on. Fibrinolytic activation and intravascular thrombosis can be measured by the amount of D-Dimer in the blood. D-Dimer is especially helpful when ruling out venous thromboembolism in people who are at high risk.
